At the NDC’s 10th National Delegates Congress, which was held at the Accra Sports stadium, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo came in second place after Mr. Nketiah with 2,892 votes, representing 33.81 percent of the vote.

Nii Armah Ashietey and Samuel Yaw Adusei, two further contenders, also received 38 and 52 votes, respectively.

The voter turnout was 94%.

Meanwhile, Asiedu Nketia known by the moniker General Mosquito has expressed his readiness to work with the incumbent National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.

“Luckily, our party makes a retired National Chairman or a General Secretary an automatic member of the Council of Elders, so, surely my friend [Samuel Ofosu Ampofo] will go to the Council of Elders and we’ll still work together,” Metro TV’s Annie Afua Ampofo in an interview.
