The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the full reinstatement of Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) in all pre-tertiary schools across the country.
This decision follows a directive from President John Dramani Mahama.
In a public notice, the Ghana Education Service said the move aims to strengthen collaboration between parents, communities, and teachers in delivering quality education to Ghanaian learners.
“This move is aimed at strengthening the collaboration and involvement of parents, communities and teachers in the delivery of quality education to Ghanaian learners,” the GES stated.
The GES has instructed all Heads of Public Senior High, Technical, and STEM Schools to operationalize the reinstatement of PTAs with immediate effect. Further guidelines on the structure, roles, and financial accountability mechanisms will be issued later to promote transparency and efficiency.
The GES is counting on stakeholders’ support for the smooth implementation of this policy.
“The Ghana Education Service counts on the support of all stakeholders to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of this important policy,” the statement added.
