GFA selects who gets relegated in the premier league – Alhaji Grusah alleges

Bankroller of king Faisal Football Club, Alhaji Karim Grusah, has accused the Ghana Football Association of unprofessionalism and interference in the Ghana Premier League.

The allegations come after the conclusion of the Ghana Premier League season, which saw Samatex win the title with 61 points and receive a prize of 500,000 Ghana cedis.

However, speaking in an interview with Gattuso on Original FM’s Super Sports Show, the prominent football administration, Alhaji Grusah questioned the authenticity of the league, suggesting that the GFA’s interference undermines the credibility of the competition.

He claimed without evidence that the Ghana FA manipulates the league to suit their interests.

“I can tell you that Kurt [Simeon Okraku] calls the shot on who gets relegated in the GPL and who stays,“ he alleged.

Alhaji Grusah also claimed that a senior member of the GFA’s Executive Committee asked him to pay a bribe of 65,000 Ghana cedis to avoid relegation.

He stated that he paid the money and his team was subsequently saved from relegation.

“I was given an account number to deposit an amount of 65 000 Ghana cedi’s I did and we were safe,” the controversial figure noted.

Three teams – Accra Great Olympics, Real Tamale United, and Bofoakwa Tano – were relegated from the league, while Vision FC, Young Apostles, and Holy Stars gained promotion to the Premier League.
