The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that further details of Carlos Queiroz’s new mandate as head coach of the Black Stars will be announced in due course.
The announcement follows confirmation from the GFA on Wednesday that it had reached an agreement with the Portuguese coach to continue leading Ghana’s senior national team.
Queiroz’s previous mandate came to an end following the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he guided the Black Stars to the knockout stage of the tournament.
Ghana’s progression to the knockout phase marked the country’s first appearance in that stage of the World Cup since 2010, when the Black Stars reached the quarter-finals in South Africa.
According to the GFA, the decision to extend Queiroz’s tenure followed discussions with the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.
The new mandate is expected to officially begin with the upcoming international window, as the GFA and Queiroz turn their attention to the next phase of Ghana’s international football programme.
“Further details on the new mandate and the Black Stars’ upcoming programme will be announced in due course,” the GFA said.
The football association added that it will work together with Queiroz with the aim of “building a successful new phase for Ghana on the international stage.”
