Assin South MP, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has raised concerns that Ghana is rapidly becoming a hub for cocaine trafficking and money laundering.
Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Fordjour criticized the government’s handling of recent investigations into illicit activities.
He described the government’s explanations about the entry and departure of two suspicious flights as “incoherent” and “questionable,” stating that they couldn’t be taken seriously.
Fordjour also pointed out the government’s failure to address the status of 12 containers filled with gold and foreign currencies confiscated by National Security on February 9.
He highlighted the lack of clarity around the ongoing investigations into a cocaine bust worth $500 million.
The MP warned that if the government continues to ignore these issues, Ghana could become a major hub for illicit activities like cocaine trafficking and money laundering, damaging the country’s reputation on the global stage.
