The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a planned break across all competitions to enable participants to fulfill their civic duties during the upcoming national General Elections on December 7, 2024.
According to the FA’s calendar, the Ghana Premier League, Access Bank Division One League, Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, and all other competitions will take a brief one-week break after this weekend in preparation for the elections.
This weekend, teams from the Premier League, Division One, and some Division Two clubs will participate in the MTN FA Cup Round of 64 games and Matchday 6 of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
The break is set to conclude on the weekend of Friday, December 13, 2024, when matches in the Ghana Premier League, Access Bank Division One League, and Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League will resume.
Clubs and match officials have been informed of this break in advance. The GFA encourages all participants and Ghanaians to carry out their civic duties peacefully and continues to wish everyone a successful election.
