Ghana international Daniel Kofi-Kyereh is reportedly set to part ways with German Bundesliga side Freiburg at the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
Kyereh, who made the move from St. Pauli in the summer of 2022, arrived in Freiburg with high expectations. Having established himself as one of the most exciting attacking midfielders in the 2. Bundesliga, fans and pundits alike anticipated a strong impact in Germany’s top flight.
However, Kyereh’s progress was abruptly interrupted by a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, which sidelined him for an extended period. The injury significantly limited his opportunities to cement a first-team spot, and his time in Freiburg has largely been defined by rehabilitation rather than on-field performances.
Despite these challenges, Freiburg reportedly provided extensive support during Kyereh’s recovery. His recent appearances for the club’s U23 side in the Regionalliga Südwest indicate promising signs of fitness and confidence, but there is limited time left in his contract to secure a full return to the Bundesliga squad.
