Ghana Olympic Committee hails Samson Deen on landslide APC re-election

The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Samson Deen, President of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC), following his emphatic re-election as President of the African Paralympic Committee (APC).

Samson Deen secured an impressive 38 out of 40 votes at the 2025 African Paralympic General Assembly held in Accra, a result described by the GOC as a “staggering vote of confidence from the African para sports community.”

In a statement, the GOC noted that his re-election is a “resounding affirmation of his visionary leadership, transformative agenda, and the significant progress achieved during his first term, including the successful hosting of the inaugural African Para Games in Ghana.”

The committee added that Mr. Deen’s continued leadership at the APC “is a source of immense national pride, strengthening Ghana’s influential voice in continental and global sports administration.”

Looking ahead, the GOC said it anticipates that his renewed mandate “will cement the strong partnership between the Olympic and Paralympic movements in Ghana and further the cause of inclusivity and excellence for all our athletes.”

The committee expressed its commitment to working closely with Mr. Deen and his newly elected team, wishing them “a highly successful term” as they continue to elevate the Paralympic movement and create more opportunities for African para-athletes.
