The Ghana International Petroleum Conference (GhIPCon), organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition in partnership with the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD), and the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC), is set to return for its 7th edition from July 16–17, 2026, at the Palms Convention Centre, La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra.
The conference will be followed by the 2nd Ghana Downstream Awards & Gala Night on July 18, 2026, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra. President John Dramani Mahama and Minister of Energy and Green Transition Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor are billed as Special Guests of Honour for the events.
Held under the theme “Building a Resilient Downstream: Policy, Innovation and Investment for Growth,” GhIPCon 2026 will bring together policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, investors, development partners, academics and technology innovators from Ghana, across Africa, and beyond to discuss the future of the downstream petroleum and energy sector.
Since its inception, GhIPCon has grown into one of the region’s leading petroleum industry platforms, serving as a strategic space for tackling industry challenges, encouraging collaboration, and driving investment and innovation across the petroleum value chain.
This year’s edition will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, executive dialogues, technical sessions, exhibitions and networking opportunities centered on policy reform, infrastructure development, sustainability, digital transformation, energy security, financing and workforce development.
Key discussion topics will include strengthening downstream regulatory frameworks, integrating natural gas as a transition fuel, digital innovation and AI-driven smart logistics, the evolving energy transition agenda, investment opportunities in Africa’s downstream sector, future-ready workforce development, supply chain resilience, and regional petroleum trade and energy security.
Organizers expect strong international participation, with representatives from government institutions, multinational energy companies, indigenous petroleum firms, financial institutions, development organizations and technology providers expected to explore opportunities within Ghana’s expanding energy market.
The conference arrives at a critical juncture for the industry, as stakeholders navigate shifting market dynamics, energy transition pressures, technological change, regulatory reform and rising investment demands. Organizers say GhIPCon 2026 aims to foster practical dialogue, knowledge sharing and strategic partnerships that support a more resilient, efficient and sustainable downstream petroleum sector.

Capping off the conference, the 2nd Ghana Downstream Awards & Gala Night will honor outstanding achievement, innovation, leadership and operational excellence within Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry. The evening will draw chief executives, policymakers, regulators, investors and industry leaders for a night of recognition, networking and relationship-building among key decision-makers in Ghana’s energy sector.
Beyond the awards presentation, guests can expect a black-tie evening of fine dining, live entertainment and celebration, with the night closing out in music and dancing well after the final award is handed out.
