Ghana positioned as the 8th biggest economy in Africa

Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson

Ghana has been placed on the African economic radar as the 8th biggest in Africa with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of $114.71 billion, a 3.2% increase over that of 2025.

According to report, Ghana’s current economic position is attributed to the mining sector, driven by its strategic high gold prices including the Information and Communications Technology and the financial services sectors.

It’s noteworthy that in 2025, Ghana’s GDP was estimated at $108.1 billion, reflecting a projected GDP growth rate of 4.8% and positioned as the 10th.

The growth trajectory demonstrates steady performance despite challenges in public debt management and external vulnerabilities using multilateral economic data over time.
