Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, has expressed confidence that Ghana will maintain its stability during the upcoming December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Speaking at a durbar organized by the Nifa Division of Akyem Abuakwa in Asiakwa in honor of his 25th enstoolment anniversary of Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin reassured Ghanaians that the country’s longstanding tradition of peaceful elections will continue.
The Okyenhene encouraged citizens to vote for candidates they believe can improve their standard of living and to remain patient while awaiting the results.
He urged tolerance among supporters of different political parties, emphasizing that elections are not the ultimate determinant of Ghana’s future.
The Okyenhene’s remarks come amid concerns raised by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), which has refused to sign any peace declaration ahead of the election, citing unresolved killings in the 2020 elections.
Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin adminished his subjects not to be worried over increasing hate attacks against the Akyem tribe.
The Overlord of Akyem Abuakwa cautioned against illegal mining which is devastating the environment . He issued a decree to schools in Anymore Abuakwa to ensure that every child above five years plants and nature a tree.
The colourful traditional ceremony was entertained with blend on traditional drumming and dancing as well as circular music performance by King Paluta and DSP Kofi Sarpong.
