Ghana continues to beam with pride as distinguished academics, leaders, and statesmen shower glowing tributes on Dr. Ralph Nyadu-Addo, following his receipt of Germany’s highest civilian honour — the Federal Cross of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz), conferred by the German President himself in Accra.
This rare and historic moment has sparked a wave of national admiration, with several respected figures describing Dr. Nyadu-Addo’s recognition as both a divine reward and a testament to years of selfless service, academic excellence, and international goodwill.
In a moving tribute, Dr. Martin Owusu-Ansah, Senior Lecturer at the School of Business, KNUST, expressed heartfelt admiration:
“Beautiful… It’s encouraging. Life is not all about money — sometimes the inner satisfaction is greater. Not many people get this. I’m not surprised; I’m just happy it has finally happened. It would have been like worshipping God without seeing the evidence, but finally, finally, the German President himself! Then what else again? It is finished, as Kofi Kinaata would put it.”
He added that Dr. Nyadu-Addo’s passion for Germany inspired a generation of Ghanaian scholars.
“I started reading about Germany because of you back in 2002 when I was a student. At a point, I even wanted to study in Germany because of your constant praises for that country. You deserve this recognition. It’s a lesson for us all to show appreciation to nations that gave us opportunities during our early development. The chicken has finally come home to roost.”
Former Vice-Chancellor of Valley View University, Prof. Dr. Dr. Daniel Buor, also sent his admiration:
“Congratulations. You truly deserve this great honour. To capture the attention of a President of a developed nation is no mean feat. Ayekoo.”
Similarly, Prof. William Otoo Ellis, former Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, wrote:
“My brother, congratulations! Thanks be to God for what He continues to do in your life.”
His Excellency Prof. Obiri Danso, Ghana’s High Commissioner to India and former KNUST Vice-Chancellor, added:
“Absolutely heart-warming. Well done, Onua. What else can you ask for from our Maker?”
Prof. Ellis Owusu-Dabo, former Pro Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, joined in, describing the honour as “well deserved,” while Ms. Irene Appiah, Member of the Hamburg Parliament, and Archbishop Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle, Catholic Archbishop of Cape Coast, also conveyed their blessings and pride.
Completing the chorus of praise, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III, Paramount Chief of New Juaben Traditional Area, hailed Dr. Nyadu-Addo as a “true son of Ghana whose achievements bring honour to the nation.”
From academia to diplomacy, from the church to traditional authority, every message echoes one truth — Dr. Ralph Nyadu-Addo’s journey of faith, excellence, and loyalty has not gone unnoticed.
