Ghana’s Economic Reset: A Collective Effort Required – Dr. Ishmael Yamson

Dr. Ishmael Yamson, Chairman of the National Economic Dialogue, has emphasized the need for collective efforts to address Ghana’s economic challenges, stressing that the majority of these issues are homegrown and self-inflicted.

Speaking at the National Economic Dialogue on Monday, March 3, under the theme “Resetting Ghana: Building the Economy We Want Together,” Dr. Yamson noted that despite the magnitude of these challenges, they can be resolved through determined leadership and citizen ownership.

He expressed confidence in President John Dramani Mahama’s leadership, saying that with his determined efforts and the support of Ghanaians, the initiative to reset the economy will yield positive results.

Dr. Yamson emphasized the importance of unity and determination in overcoming the country’s economic difficulties, urging the public to take responsibility for shaping the nation’s future.

“The sad truth is that the overwhelming majority of our problems are homegrown and self-inflicted. Only our leaders and the people of Ghana can and must resolve these issues,” he stated.

The National Economic Dialogue brings together policymakers, economists, and industry leaders to discuss strategies for economic recovery and promote inclusive development.
