“The services sector was the main contributor to October 2025 growth. The sector contributed 2.8 percentage points to the overall growth of 3.8 percent in economic activity,” the report stated .

The growth in services was largely propelled by increased activity in Information and Communication as well as Trade.

Economic activities within the industry sector expanded by 3.0 per cent over the period, contributing 1.1 percentage points to total growth. The expansion was mainly attributed to improved performance in the manufacturing sub-sector.

“This increase can be attributed to the growth observed in the manufacturing sub-sector,” the GSS explained .

Meanwhile, the agriculture sector recorded a relatively modest growth of 0.9 per cent, contributing 0.05 percentage points to the overall expansion. The improvement was driven largely by increased activity in the fishing sub-sector.

The GSS noted that the MIEG is currently published as an experimental statistic and remains subject to revision as more comprehensive data becomes available.

“The MIEG gives users a reliable early indication of movements in economic activity before the quarterly release,” the Service said .
