Ghana’s U-15 girls’ team has clinched the 2025 African Schools Football Championship (ASFC) girls’ edition, defeating Uganda 2-0 in the final.
The Black Damsels’ impressive performance capped off a brilliant campaign, which saw them overcome defending champions South Africa 3-2 in the semifinals.
Despite torrential rains that threatened to disrupt the game at the University of Ghana Stadium, the Ghanaian girls showed unwavering determination, earning a hard-fought 2-0victory under the guidance of head coach Joyce Boatey-Agyei.
This triumph marks a significant milestone for Ghanaian football, as the team pockets a cash prize of $300,000.
The Ghanaian teams’ performances were a testament to their resilience and dedication.
Coached by Kwaku Danso, the boys’ team showed remarkable grit, coming from behind to win 2-1 against Uganda in the third-place playoff.
This championship win is a proud moment for Ghanaian football, and the team’s success will undoubtedly inspire future generations of young players.
