Ghana’s U-16 Women’s National Team has arrived in Malta for the UEFA International Development Tournament, scheduled to take place from March 3-9, 2025, at the Centenary Stadium in Ta’ Qali – Attard.
The team, consisting of 20 players; two goalkeepers and 18 outfield players, along with seven officials, left the shores of the country on Sunday evening and arrived in Malta on Monday.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) aims to use this competition, which will also feature Latvia, Malta, and Ireland, to develop young talent that will eventually transition into the Black Maidens.
Ghana will kick off the tournament on Tuesday, March 4, against the hosts, Malta, at the Centenary Stadium, followed by matches against Ireland on Thursday, March 6, and Latvia on Saturday, March 9.
The U-16 Women’s National Team is being prepared to make a strong return on the global stage. Under the tutelage of Coach Nana Adarkwa, the team is determined to make a mark and gain valuable experience as they compete against top-tier opponents in this important preparatory tournament.
Coach Adarkwa is focused on shaping the team into a formidable Women’s U-17 squad for their upcoming competitive fixtures, set to begin later this year.
