GIFEC CEO denies recruiting only NDC members

The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), Dr. Sofo Tanko Rashid, has debunked claims that his outfit is recruiting members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking on Good Afternoon Ghana with Kwasi Afriyie on Metro TV, Dr. Rashid dismissed the public perception that party affiliation is influencing employment decisions at GIFEC, emphasizing that recruitment is based solely on merit and qualifications.

“We are not employing NDC members, we are employing qualified Ghanaians,” he stated. “Anyone who qualifies can apply. It doesn’t matter your political background.”

He also warned the public against falling victim to recruitment scams, making it clear that no money is required to apply for a job at the agency.

“Anybody who is interested in the job must not pay money to anybody. That is not how we operate,” he cautioned.

Dr. Rashid’s comments come amid growing concerns and social media commentary suggesting that GIFEC’s hiring process may be politically biased in favor of the NDC.

Dr. Rashid says he is committed to rebuild public trust and assure Ghanaians that GIFEC remains a non-partisan, professional institution focused on national development through digital inclusion and ICT empowerment.
