Give Chris Hughton the benefit of the doubt — Coach JE Sarpong

Renowned Ghanaian coach, Emmanuel Josef (JE) Sarpong, has entreated Ghanaians to exercise patience with newly appointed Black Stars gaffer, Chris Hughton.

In February 2023, the Ghana Football Association appointed Chris Hughton as the new head coach of the Black Stars following extensive deliberations between the two parties.

The decision to appoint Hughton came following the resignation of Otto Addo as the team’s head coach after Ghana’s exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Addo was head of the team with assistance from George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani after being appointed in March with Hughton serving as the technical advisor of the team.

The Black Stars boss has received backing following the unveiling of his latest squad for the upcoming games.

“Give coach Chris Hughton the benefit of the doubt “.

“We should have patience for him. We are always in a hurry because we are result-oriented,” coach Sarpong opined in an interview with Gattuso on Original 91.9FM on Thursday morning.

Hughton will commence the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier with a doubleheader against Angola this month.

Last week, he announced a 25-man roster for the upcoming double leg.
