The urgent need for global collaboration and comprehensive training in cybersecurity to strengthen worldwide digital defenses has been strongly highlighted at the madden edition of Positive Hack Camp in Moscow.
Organized by Positive Technologies with the support of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, the camp brought together 70 cybersecurity specialists from across the globe for two weeks of intensive, hands-on training.
This international cybersecurity training program, which began in August 2024, is set to become an annual event, underscoring the growing demand for practical cybersecurity education.
The program’s participants, hailing from 20 countries, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil, and South Africa, engaged in sessions designed to enhance their skills in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure protection.
Yuliya Danchina, Director of Customer and Partner Training and Head of Positive Education at Positive Technologies, emphasized the importance of global collaboration in building a resilient cybersecurity landscape.
“The cybersecurity industry worldwide needs strong players capable of training and developing professional talent to create a global, result-driven cybersecurity system,” said Danchina.
“Positive Hack Camp is a vital educational project aimed at training local cybersecurity professionals, contributing to the development of a global cybersecurity community and the fight against cyber threats.”
The Positive Hack Camp, hosted by Positive Education and CyberEd, subsidiaries of Positive Technologies, focused on equipping participants with practical skills and knowledge to tackle contemporary cybersecurity challenges. This initiative is part of a broader effort by Positive Technologies to address the expanding cybersecurity skills gap that many nations face.
One of the camp’s significant outcomes was the announcement of a strategic partnership between Positive Technologies and Swiss German University (SGU), an Indonesian technical university. This collaboration aims to enhance cybersecurity capabilities in Indonesia by developing tailored educational programs for local professionals. The partnership is a step towards building a globally connected cybersecurity workforce, which is essential in an era where digital threats know no borders.
“The rapid adoption of digital technologies is outpacing the development of cybersecurity in many parts of the world,” remarked Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Samuel P. Kusumocahyo, Rector of SGU. “We highly appreciate that Positive Technologies, a world-leading information security company, is willing to share its experience and knowledge with us. We look forward to seeing high-level professionals emerge in our country, and we are happy to partner with a company with such extensive hands-on experience in this area.”
In addition to the Positive Hack Camp, Positive Technologies has been actively organizing events like the Positive Hack Days (PHDays) festival and the Standoff Cyberbattle, which foster international cooperation among cybersecurity experts. These events provide a platform for professionals to share experiences and refine their skills in realistic scenarios, thereby promoting a collective approach to cybersecurity.
The need for such collaboration is critical, as highlighted by the recent PHDays Fest in May 2024, which attracted participants across the globe.
