GMet Warns of Thunderstorms and Heavy Rainfall in Parts of Ghana Today

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued a cautionary weather update for today, Tuesday, October 7, warning of thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rainfall in various parts of the country.

In a public statement released earlier today, the agency revealed that ongoing weather developments are intensifying, with moderate to strong winds expected to accompany the rainstorm.

“The thunderstorms and rain mentioned in the afternoon forecast have intensified, producing moderate to heavy rainfall over parts of the country,” the statement read.

According to GMet, the rainstorm is moving westward and will affect coastal, middle, and transition zones as the day progresses into the evening hours. The northern parts of the country may also experience localized thunderstorms or rain later in the day.

Residents in affected areas are being urged to take necessary precautions to stay safe, especially in regions prone to flooding or wind-related damage.

The agency continues to monitor the weather situation and will provide timely updates as conditions evolve.
