GN Bank has resumed operations with the reopening of its Asylum Down branch in Accra, marking its return to banking after its licence was restored following a Court of Appeal ruling.
The reopening of the branch is the first step in the bank’s return to business after the restoration of its banking licence. It also restores access to banking services for customers at the Asylum Down branch.
The bank, owned by businessman Papa Kwesi Nduom, had its banking licence revoked in 2019 by the previous government over claims of insolvency.
However, on May 21, 2026, the Court of Appeal ordered the immediate restoration of the bank’s operating licence, paving the way for it to resume operations.
The reopening of the Asylum Down branch signals a new chapter for GN Bank as it begins rebuilding its operations and reconnecting with customers.
