The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has successfully brought under control a domestic fire that broke out at Chantan 6 to 6 in Accra on Friday, February 6, 2026.
The incident was reported at about 2:05pm and involved “a wooden residential structure with GPS address (GW-112-3906) and a metal container used as a storeroom.”
Firefighters from the Anyaa Fire Station, led by ADO I Ewusi, responded swiftly to the distress call and managed to contain the blaze within minutes.
The GNFS said the fire was brought under control at 2:40pm and “fully extinguished… at 1523 hours.”
No injuries or fatalities were recorded in the incident.
The statement further noted that an “adjacent single-room building and a cash amount of GHC 66.20 were successfully salvaged” during the operation, preventing further losses.
Meanwhile, the cause of the fire has not yet been established.
The GNFS indicated that “the cause of the fire remains under investigation.”
