GoldBod has signed a GH¢8.4 million agreement with Ghana Water Limited (GWL) to rehabilitate the Bonsa, Daboase and Sekyere Heman water supply systems in the Western and Central regions.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, GoldBod Chief Executive Officer Sammy Gyamfi said the Board approved the project after conducting an independent technical assessment, describing the initiative as part of GoldBod’s commitment to responsible mining, environmental sustainability and improving the livelihoods of Ghanaians.

Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited, Adam Mutawakilu, expressed appreciation to GoldBod for what he described as a timely intervention. He said the rehabilitation works would restore water production and improve water supply to the affected communities after years of operational challenges.

The project is expected to strengthen water infrastructure in the beneficiary communities while supporting efforts to protect the environment through sustainable mining practices.
