The Chairman of Parliament’s Select Committee on Sports, Hon. Henry Ernest Norgbey, has revealed that there are plans to continue providing support to Ghana Premier League clubs on an annual basis.
The Ashaiman Member of Parliament made this known during an interview with Sportstiger on Original TV, where he discussed efforts aimed at improving the development and sustainability of football in Ghana.
According to Hon. Norgbey, supporting domestic clubs remains a key part of efforts to strengthen the Ghana Premier League and create a better environment for clubs, players, and stakeholders.
“Is it our plan to continue supporting Premier League clubs in Ghana every year,” he stated.
The initiative is expected to provide further assistance to clubs competing in Ghana’s top-flight league, helping them address some of the financial challenges that affect operations, player development, and competition standards.
The Sports Committee Chairman has previously emphasized the importance of investing in local football structures to improve the quality of the game and make Ghana’s domestic league more competitive.
