Ghana Secondary Technical School, known as The Giants, has knocked out Presbyterian Boys Senior High School, Legon, from the National Science and Maths Quiz after a tense quarterfinal showdown that ended with only one point separating the two schools.
The Takoradi-based school edged past the eight-time champions with 39 points against PRESEC’s 38 to secure a place in the semifinals of the 2025 competition. Our Lady of Grace Senior High School finished third with 28 points.
The narrow win marks a major moment for GSTS, who have long sought to reclaim their place among the country’s top science and math contenders. The contest kept audiences on edge to the very last question as PRESEC, known for its dominance in the competition, fell just short of advancing to the next round.
With the victory, The Giants move on to the semifinals, carrying the hopes of their supporters in Takoradi and beyond.
