The return journey of Ghanaian Muslim pilgrims has officially commenced as flight schedules out of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah get underway, marking the beginning of their safe passage back home after the completion of this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.
On 14 June 2026, the third return flight successfully departed Jeddah carrying 431 Ghanaian pilgrims bound for Tamale International Airport in Ghana.
The flight took off at 8:14pm Saudi time (5:14pm Ghana time) from King Abdulaziz International Airport, signaling another major step in the coordinated evacuation and repatriation exercise for Ghana’s Hajj contingent.
Officials overseeing the operation confirmed that the process is being carried out smoothly, with pilgrims departing in batches according to the approved flight schedule. The atmosphere at the airport was filled with gratitude and relief as pilgrims completed their spiritual journey in the Holy Land and prepared for their return home.
Many of the pilgrims expressed thanks to Allah for a successful Hajj season, describing the experience as spiritually fulfilling and life-changing.
The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) Communications Directorate noted that logistics, coordination, and welfare arrangements have been maintained to ensure safe and orderly movement of all Ghanaian pilgrims back to the country.
Further return flights are expected to continue in the coming days until the entire Ghanaian contingent has been successfully repatriated.
“Glory be to Allah,” officials and pilgrims alike declared, as the journey home continues under careful coordination between Ghanaian and Saudi authorities.
