Hearts Can Win the Premier League Title- Benjamin Asare

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare, has expressed unwavering confidence that his team can still clinch the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title. After a hard-fought 1-0 victory over arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in Sunday’s Super Clash, the Phobians are now eyeing the top spot with renewed hope.

The match, played at the iconic Baba Yara Stadium, saw Baba Adamu score the only goal of the match with a header in the first half. This crucial win not only boosted the morale of the squad but also brought them closer to the league leaders, Medeama SC, who remain at the top of the table.

Despite the fierce competition at the top of the league table, Asare believes that Hearts of Oak are still in the running for the championship. Reflecting on the win, the experienced goalkeeper said, “Yes, anyone can still win it. If you look at the top four or five teams, it’s all about determination on the field. If we continue to win our matches, we have a great chance.”

For Asare, the Super Clash victory over Kotoko is a pivotal moment in Hearts’ season. “Winning the league would be a huge opportunity for us, and I believe most of the players deserve it,” Asare continued. “This win today will help us be more aggressive and focused in our upcoming matches.”

With Hearts of Oak now sitting in third place with 39 points, the team has every reason to remain optimistic. The Phobians will look to maintain their momentum as they face Berekum Chelsea in their next league fixture on Matchday 23 at the University of Ghana Stadium.
