Communications Director of Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo, has assured fans of their safety as the Ghana Premier League resumes this weekend.
The Ghana Premier League is set to resume this weekend after a hiatus following the tragic death of Asante Kotoko fan Nana Pooley during a Premier League match in Nsuatre last month.
With the resumption of the league, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has outlined a set of safety protocols to be observed at every venue. Opare Addo has assured fans that the club will fully adhere to these protocols to ensure their safety.
“I’m working closely with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and National Security to ensure a safe and secure environment for our upcoming match,” Opare Addo stated in an interview with Original FM.
“We want to assure our fans that there will be a significant security presence at the safety zone and throughout the stadium. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our supporters, players, and staff.”
“We urge all fans to cooperate with security personnel and follow the safety guidelines in place. Let’s work together to create a fun and secure atmosphere for everyone.”
The Phobians will return to action against Young Apostles at the Legon Stadium on Saturday, March 8. Opare Addo is calling on all fans of the club to come to the stadium in their numbers.
“We’re eager to get back to action and showcase our team’s skills and determination. I urge all our fans to come out in their numbers and support us.
“Let’s make our return to the pitch a memorable one! Phobians, let’s march on!”
After 19 games, Hearts of Oak sit in 4th place with 33 points, just a point behind leaders Bibiani GoldStars.
