Hearts of Oak have withdrawn from the 2026 Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Top-4 Tournament, citing scheduling conflicts and concerns over their preparations for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
The Accra-based club confirmed its withdrawal in a statement issued on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, explaining that the dates set for the competition clash with programmes already planned by the club.
According to Hearts of Oak, the timing of the GHALCA Top-4 Tournament, which comes close to the start of the new Ghana Premier League season, could also disrupt their preparations and other important activities.
The Phobians said they had engaged the Ghana League Clubs Association over the scheduling concerns and requested a change to the tournament dates to enable them to participate.
However, the club said the discussions did not result in a change to the schedule.
With the dates remaining unchanged, Hearts of Oak decided that withdrawing from the competition was the most appropriate option.
“After careful consideration, the Club has therefore decided that withdrawing from the tournament is the most appropriate course of action at this time,” the club said in its statement.
