The Ho Central Ambulance Station in the Volta Region has received new office equipment and supplies from the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Richmond Edem Kpotosu, to improve the working conditions of emergency medical personnel.
The items, presented on Monday, 31st August 2026, include a desktop computer, a Canon 3 in 1 multifunction printer, a refrigerator, foldable chairs and student mattresses.
The equipment is expected to make the station’s administrative work easier, improve the documentation of emergency dispatches and provide better conditions for personnel who remain on standby or work night shifts.
The donation followed a request by the Officer in Charge of the Ho Central Ambulance Station, Principal Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (PAEMT) Henry Horlali Mawugbe, who had identified the equipment as necessary for the station’s day to day operations.
Receiving the items on behalf of the National Ambulance Service (NAS), PAEMT Mawugbe thanked Mr Kpotosu for responding to the station’s needs.
He said the support would help the ambulance team provide more efficient emergency medical services to residents of Ho Central and nearby communities.
But alongside the equipment, Mr Mawugbe raised a longer standing concern: the station still does not have a permanent facility.
He appealed to the MP to support efforts to secure a dedicated building for the station, saying the ambulance team has operated from temporary accommodation at the Regional Fire Service Headquarters for more than two decades.
According to him, the growing demands on emergency medical services in the municipality make a permanent office complex increasingly necessary.
The appeal highlights the conditions under which ambulance personnel continue to provide emergency care, often working long hours and remaining on standby to respond when residents need urgent medical attention.
Mr Kpotosu commended the ambulance personnel for their commitment and sacrifices, particularly their role in providing life saving services to residents of Ho Central and surrounding areas.
He assured the team of his continued support for efforts to improve emergency health infrastructure and strengthen emergency response services in the constituency.
The National Ambulance Service said support from stakeholders remains important to improving prehospital emergency care and service delivery across the country.
