Officials from the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) have sensitized inmates of the Ho Central and Female Prisons on the dangers associated with drug abuse as part of planned efforts to mark this year’s World Drug Day.
The outreach, led by ANCO Millicent Marfo and facilitated by Supt. Ben Adomah, an assistant Physician at the Reformers Health Centre raised awareness on the side effects of substance abuse.

The move also aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle choices, encourage rehabilitation in addition to reintegrating inmates into society.
The session featured inmates being taken through step by step stages of addiction on how substance abuse affects the physical, mental, and psychological well-being of an individual.
