Huawei has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ghana’s ambition of becoming Africa’s leading digital hub.
The company’s Country Director expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama and the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, for their backing, while restating Huawei’s vision to strengthen Ghana’s digital future through AI, cloud computing, connectivity, innovation, and skills training for young people.
The assurance was given during a courtesy call on President Mahama at the Jubilee House. The Huawei delegation was led by the Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, who underscored the importance of aligning private sector innovation with government policy.
The discussions focused on the expansion of rural telephony networks, digital sovereignty, and the deployment of ICT infrastructure to drive national development. Huawei pledged to deepen its collaboration with government in the key areas of connectivity, cloud computing, and digital skills development.
President Mahama commended Huawei for its continued support, saying technology remained central to his administration’s vision of inclusive opportunities, stronger national security systems, and economic growth.
Minister Nartey George added that Huawei’s expertise and investments in ICT infrastructure were crucial to Ghana’s digital acceleration.
The visit underscored the government’s determination to build strong partnerships with the private sector to advance Ghana’s digital transformation and cement its place as a leader in Africa’s technology-driven future.
