Former Minister for Food and Agriculture and aspiring NPP flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto has debunked the unfavorable public perception about his personality.
According to the former Member of Parliament for Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region, it is very unfortunate that a section of the public perceives him to be arrogant and too serious for public office.
But launching his presidential ambition to lead the NPP as flagbearer into the 2024 General Elections, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto noted that the perception about his personality is far from reality.
He noted that he is known for his affable nature, confidence and passion although he holds strong views on certain issues.
“Frequently, I have often been perceived as being too serious and arrogant but that is far from the reality. For those who know me well, I am known to be confident, ‘very passionate” and to have “strong” views on many subjects,” Dr. Afriyie Akoto noted.
Dr Akoto insists that his close associates can testify to his affable nature and approach.
“In fact, I am a very friendly, open-hearted and affable person,” he added.
The NPP stalwart reiterated his confidence as the one candidate who can win take the reins in the next election with the “immense support that I have received so far ever since I announced my intention to contest the flagbearership race.”
“I never knew there were so many who have quietly followed my progress in politics over the years and continue to believe in me,” he added.
