Ernestina Fosuh, elder sister of late highlife icon Daddy Lumba, has revealed that she was denied access to see her brother’s body following his death.
In a press release dated February 15, 2026, Ms Fosuh described as “extremely painful” rumours suggesting she chose not to view her brother after his passing.
“This claim is not only untrue but extremely painful,” she stated.
According to her, she personally went to the Transition Funeral Home at Haatso, accompanied by her lawyer and four others, in a bid to see her late brother, born Charles Kwadwo Fosuh.
“I personally went to Transition Funeral Home at Haatso, accompanied by my lawyer and four others, to see my younger brother – my only brother, whom I have loved since childhood and with whom I spoke just two days before his untimely death. I was denied access,” she recounted.
Ms Fosuh alleged that the manager of the facility informed her that the Abusuapanyin had instructed them not to allow her to see the body.
“The manager of the funeral home informed us that the Abusuapanyin had instructed them not to allow me to see him,” she said.
She explained that the experience has left her traumatised, noting that the thought of possibly never seeing her brother again before his burial has haunted her.
“No one can truly imagine the depth of pain and trauma I have endured since that day. The thought that I might never see my brother again before he was laid to rest has haunted me every single evening,” she stated.
She further disclosed that she sought legal redress at the High Court in Accra, hoping the court would grant her the opportunity to see her brother.
“I placed my hope in the High Court in Accra, believing that justice would allow me that final moment,” she said, adding that an injunction granted in her favour was later revoked within a short period.
Despite the ordeal, Ms Fosuh maintains that she only sought a final moment with her brother and insists that suggestions she refused to see him are false.
