I will accept defeat if I lose my General Secretary bid – Fiifi Kwetey

A General Secretary hopeful of the National Democratic Congress says he will concede if his attempts to become a top party executive prove futile.

Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey believes candidates who will remain victorious at the National Delegates Congress are predestinated and there is no need to drag issues.

“Anyone who emerges today emerges because he is the one supposed to be. If anyone is preparing rooms to find excuses, I will not be one of those.

“I believe at the end of the day those who emerge did so rightly,” he told Metro TV’s Henry Akwasi Badu.

He noted that “their wins are the voice of the masses and the will of the voters,”

The former Minister of Food and Agriculture and of Transport further stated he is optimistic about winning the General Secretary position.

“I’m pretty confident I will be smiling at the end of the day,” he stated.

Fiifi Kwetey declared his intention to contest the NDC General Secretary position following the decision by the incumbent, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah known commonly as General Mosquito, to exit the position to join the chairmanship race.

He is contesting for the position along with Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, the party’s Deputy General Secretary, and Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, NDC’s current Director of Elections
