“I wore the fake army uniform to impress a nurse” – Fake Soldier

A man accused of impersonating a soldier at the 37 Military Hospital says he wore an army uniform he found in second hand clothes to impress a nurse he hoped to marry.

The suspect, who was apprehended at the hospital, told authorities that he sells second hand clothing and discovered the military attire in one of the bales he purchased.

According to him, he decided to wear the uniform after several failed attempts to win over the nurse, who had allegedly told him she preferred to marry a soldier.

He said the decision was driven by his desire to meet her expectations and gain her attention.

However, his attempt quickly unravelled when a real soldier at the facility noticed that he was wearing slippers instead of the standard military boots, an obvious breach of military dress regulations. The discrepancy raised suspicion, leading to his arrest.

The accused has since been granted bail in the sum of GH¢30,000 with two sureties as investigations continue.
