Ghana international midfielder Iddrisu Baba is on the verge of completing a move to Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade on a free transfer after the expiration of his contract with Spanish side UD Almeria.
The 30-year-old defensive midfielder is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Black-Whites, bringing an end to his time in Spain and opening a new chapter in his professional career.
Baba departs Almeria after a three-year spell, during which he continued to showcase his experience and quality in midfield. Prior to joining Almeria, he enjoyed a successful stint with RCD Mallorca, where he played a key role in the club’s promotion to La Liga and established himself as one of the league’s most dependable defensive midfielders.
Over the course of his time with Mallorca and Almeria, Baba made more than 150 La Liga appearances. His relentless work rate, ball-winning ability, and tactical discipline earned him a strong reputation as one of Ghana’s most consistent performers in Spanish football.
The move to Partizan Belgrade offers the experienced midfielder a fresh challenge as the Serbian club looks to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season and compete domestically and in European competitions.
