Former Amenfi West Parliamentary candidate, Ignatius Kwesi Afrifa, has been elected Western Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Afrifa secured 265 votes to defeat his contender, Abdul Ganiyu Mohammed, who polled 102 votes in the regional executive elections held at Agona-Nkwanta.
The election forms part of the NPP’s efforts to elect new regional executives to lead the party’s activities and strengthen its structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Afrifa’s victory places him at the helm of the NPP’s Western Regional administration, where he will be expected to oversee the party’s organisational activities and mobilisation efforts.
Ignatius Aaaah Mensah was elected First Vice Chairman after securing 205 votes, while Francis Abeku Yankah became Second Vice Chairman with 193 votes.
For the Secretary position, Kwasi Bonzoh emerged victorious with 211 votes. Lawrence Takyi was elected Deputy Secretary, polling 157 votes.
