Armwrestling champion, Grace Minta, has been promoted from Chief Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) by the Inspector General of Police in Accra.
The promotion was announced on Wednesday during a brief ceremony in recognition of her outstanding achievement in sports and her continued service within the Ghana Police Service.
Grace Minta, a former world armwrestling champion, recently delivered a stellar performance at the just-ended Africa Armwrestling Championships, where she won an impressive four gold medals, further cementing her status as one of Ghana’s most decorated armwrestlers on the continental stage.
Her achievement is being hailed within sports and security circles as a rare blend of professional discipline and elite athletic excellence, with her success bringing renewed attention to Ghana’s growing reputation in armwrestling.
Officials say the promotion reflects both her commitment to duty and her contribution to elevating the image of the Ghana Police Service through sports.
Minta’s rise continues to inspire many young athletes in the country, particularly within combat and strength sports, as she balances a demanding career in law enforcement with international sporting success.
