“‘I’ll Show Them Where Power Lies’ – NPP Vice Chairman Threatens TV3

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 3rd Vice Chairman, Alhaji Osman Masawuud, has clarified the controversial incident at the party’s press conference held on April 16, 2025, stating that TV3 was not invited and had no permission to cover the event.

In an exclusive interview with Kwaku Owusu Adjei (Pato) on Adwenekasa on Accra-based Original TV, Masawuud said the party’s top hiarachy had earlier agreed not to engage Media General platforms, including TV3, over what they claim is persistent bias and unprofessional conduct.

“Before the press conference, we agreed that any NPP Communicator who appears on Media General platforms will be suspended,” Masawuud stated.

“I personally threw away TV3’s microphone because of Johnnie Hughes’s comments. They had no right to be there. If they bring their microphone again without our permission, I will show them where power lies.”

Masawuud’s remarks come amidst rising tensions between the NPP and Media General, particularly TV3, with the party accusing the media house of consistent misrepresentation and antagonism.

He issued a stern warning to TV3 and its affiliates: “Stay away from our programs. You’re not welcome until further notice.”
