Ghanaian Afrobeats sensation King Promise vows to shun pressure for award-chasing music, prioritizing authenticity and creative freedom over trophies.
He values awards but insists on crafting resonant tracks naturally, without rushing. “No pressure in making music” is his mantra he lets songs brew for days, halting if they feel forced.
Speaking on 3FM interview with AJ Sarpong, King Promise revealed his mindset has “grown beyond just awards,” zeroing in on art’s true impact.
Despite his focus on organic creation, King Promise has achieved massive success, including winning the coveted Artiste of the Year award at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
He also reflected on early career challenges, sharing that he once had seven nominations in one year but left with zero awards, stating that he used those experiences to work harder.
