‘I’m ready for second round of vetting’ – Ablakwa dares Minority

Foreign Affairs Minister-designate, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has thrown a challenge to the Minority caucus in Parliament, saying he is ready for a second round of vetting.

“If they want a second round of vetting, I am ready for them,” Ablakwa dared in a post sighted by Metro TV.

His comment comes after the Minority caucus, headed by Alexander Afenyo Markin, raised concerns about his vetting process.

Addressing the media during a press conference on Monday, February 3, 2025, in Accra, Afenyo Markin said, “Today, when Ablakwa’s CV is being scrutinized, he said he is a tenant, GH¢15,000 is what he disclosed as his regular income, and he said to the whole public that all he earns is what he gets from Parliament—GH¢15,000 cedis. He doesn’t do any other work, yet he is able to afford Airport Hills for 8 years and pays monthly.”

However, in a post on social media Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has trashed the claims, insisting he has nothing to hide.

“It is not a crime for a Member of Parliament to patriotically and diligently seek the protection of public resources and state assets pursuant to our constitutional mandate of oversight,” he added.
