Coach Otto Addo of the Black Stars of Ghana has stated that a victory over Portugal in their opening match of the 2022 World Cup is the team’s focus.
Addo believes the team’s goal is to win against Portugal and advance to the knockout stages, despite the fact that they are not among the group’s top two favorites.
While speaking at a press conference, Otto Addo noted that “We want to go game by game so our full focus is on the Portuguese game. If we don’t look too far and we concentrate on the next game, I think we can do something.”
He added, “From there, nobody knows, it depends on who you get and also how you play.
“It’s very difficult to predict so our main focus is to win against Portugal, which will be very difficult. After that, we’ll look at the next step,” the Black Stars head coach indicated.
The Black Stars will face Portugal at Stadium 974 on Thursday, November 24, hoping to get off to a solid start in the competition.
