Incomplete passport applications to be cancelled after two months – Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says passport applications left incomplete for more than two months after submission will be automatically cancelled.

In a public notice issued on Friday, May 15, the ministry said the directive affects applications that require additional vetting, including missing supporting documents, incomplete biometric capture or pending biometric recapture.

It warned that fees paid for cancelled applications would not be refunded and affected applicants would have to begin a fresh application process and pay the required fees again.

The ministry urged applicants to complete their applications within the stipulated period to avoid cancellation.

It also advised the public to contact its 24 hour call centre on 0302 754 200 for further information.

The ministry said the measure forms part of efforts to improve service delivery and assured the public of its commitment to efficient passport processing.
