Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu says he believes “it was God saving me from trouble” after he was detained and deported from the Netherlands over visa issues.
Speaking in an interview with Zionfelix on X, Manu said he was stopped on arrival at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and denied entry before being sent back to Ghana.
He said immigration officials did not give him much room to explain, despite his attempts to clarify his situation. The actor linked the incident to problems with his travel documents, which he said abruptly halted his journey.
Manu described the experience as unsettling, adding that he tried to speak with officers and even asked for internet access to contact others, but his requests were refused.
Reflecting on the incident, he said he now sees it as a form of protection.
“It was God’s way of saving me from worse. I think God wanted to save me from trouble,” he said, suggesting that the person he intended to visit may not have been trustworthy.
He did not provide further details about the alleged visa irregularities or the planned visit.
