Political Scientist and Senior lecturer at the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana, Professor Ransford Yaw Gyampo has heavily criticized New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Members of Parliament who are openly declaring support for flagbearer aspirants.

According to the vociferous Professor, the open support declared by the legislators has the tendency to “break up” the party in its quest to win the 2024 presidential election.

The senior lecturer who was speaking on Accra-based Neat FM’s morning show added that he is “shocked” by the MPs’ move after describing it as “childish”.

He said, “what they are doing is not right. It’s childish and amateur politics. This party is supposed to have come of age but it seems like they are not that matured.“

“This is not the tradition of the NPP, what is going wrong? They are not growing up. Even their leadership is questionable,” he added.
