Joana Gyan Invests $5 Million in Farming Initiative to Create Jobs

Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, has launched a farming initiative aimed at creating jobs and empowering women in her constituency. With an investment of nearly $5 million, the project seeks to transform the lives of residents, particularly women, through vegetable farming.

The MP’s office has secured over 120 acres of land and equipment for irrigation, demonstrating her commitment to making a significant impact. Hon. Gyan aims to reach 10 communities within the constituency, providing opportunities for women to engage in vegetable farming and improve their livelihoods.

According to her, the initiative is a collaborative effort between the Joana Gyan Foundation, Peanut Farmers Association, and Jel Farms GH Limited. Together, they will work to create jobs and promote economic growth in the area by providing training sections to the farmers in vegetables farming such as garden eggs, okro, pepper, peanut etc.
Amenfi Central being one of the poorest constituencies in the Western Region, Hon. Gyan’s initiative providing jobs and economic opportunities will reduce social vices such as robbery, drug addiction, and teenage pregnancy, which are prevalent in the area.

This initiative is a testament to Hon. Joana Gyan’s dedication to her campaign promises and her commitment to uplifting the lives of her constituents.
