John Kofi Ansah has been elected as the new Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), succeeding Kudjoe Fianoo.
In the elections held on Thursday at the GHALCA Secretariat at the Accra Sports Stadium, John secured 95 votes, defeating Isaac Wilberforce Koomson, who garnered 35 votes.
Following the victory, John Ansah shared his vision for GHALCA: “My vision is to build a better future for all members by promoting responsible leadership, transparency, and integrity,” he stated.
In the Vice Chairmanship race, Phyllis Marku successfully defended her position, winning 94 votes to Nana Amankwaa Kwakye’s 34.
Gabriel Godwin triumphed in the Regional Football Association Executive Council race, earning 23 votes to beat Isaac Gasper, who received 7 votes. The two Premier League Representative spots on the Executive Council were secured by Fred Tindan and Joseph Nkoo, who earned 26 and 18 votes, respectively.
Other positions were uncontested: Patrick Martey Boye remains Treasurer, Eric Opoku continues as the Division One League representative, Gabriel Godwin Kwao retains his role for the Regional Leagues, and ASP Naomi F. Abdulai remains the representative for the Women’s Premier League.
