The Member of Parliament for Yapei Kusawgu, John Abdulai Jinapor, has launched a GH¢1 million Education Scholarship Fund to support brilliant but needy students within his constituency.
The initiative, according to the lawmaker, is designed to provide financial assistance to students from the basic to tertiary levels, easing the burden on parents and promoting equal access to quality education.
In a Facebook post announcing the launch sighted by Metro TV, John Jinapor, who doubles as the Energy Minister said the fund forms part of his broader vision to “empower the youth, improve educational outcomes, and promote sustainable development in the Yapei Kusawgu Constituency.”
He underscored his unwavering commitment to investing in human capital, describing education as “the most powerful tool for transforming lives and communities.”
He assured that the fund would be managed transparently, with beneficiaries selected based on merit and genuine need.
“I reaffirm my commitment to human capital development, emphasising that education remains the most powerful tool for transforming lives and communities. The fund will be transparently managed to ensure that beneficiaries are selected based on merit and genuine need,” he wrote.
The Yapei Kusawgu MP believes the scholarship scheme will go a long way to support the educational aspirations of young people in his constituency and help create a foundation for long-term socio-economic progress.
