The final funeral rites for late Deputy Finance Minister, Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah, are scheduled for today, May 18, 2024.
Kumah’s passing on March 7, 2024, marked a significant loss for Ghana’s political landscape. As a dedicated public servant, he played a crucial role in shaping the country’s financial policies and was widely respected for his expertise and leadership. His contributions to the nation’s development will be deeply missed.
Kumah, 45, left behind a wife and six children.
The funeral arrangements, as per the family’s directives, will take place at Onwe, a suburb of Ejisu, where his one-week observation was also held.
The funeral service will be held at Onwie Roman Catholic School Park, beginning at 5 am, followed by a burial service at 10 am and interment at Aduapakye Royal Cemetery. The final funeral rites will be held at Onwie Roman Catholic School Park from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
A thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Onwie Roman Catholic School Park.
Kumah’s death led to a by-election, which was won by the New Patriotic Party’s candidate Kwabena Boateng, who secured 55.79% of the total votes cast.
